The existence and successful survival of democracy is the most celebrated fact about our country and constitution is its back bone. To reinforce the significance and importance of constitution, the government of India declared 26th November as Constitution Day.

The occasion was also celebrated in the premises of school, in all its solemnity. It was marked by the conduct of a ‘special assembly’ by the students of the school. The celebration started with a short speech of a student of std. IV which explained what the constitution means and its significance to us. Thereafter a student explained the basic rights and duties given to the Indians by our constitution. It was followed by an oath on preamble taken by the students in front of the photo of Dr B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of Indian constitution. The assembly ground echoed with the words “We the people of India………”

Overall programme was memorable one which took us on a journey of our constitution from its history to its present-day form and its vital role to bring together an idea called India.
