Report on Independence Day 2021

Independence Day is adulated each year on the 15th of August in India to celebrate the country’s freedom from the British domain on the same day in August 1947

This year too our school ensured that the fervor of patriotism lived on and shifted our Independence Day celebration online. The only live part of the celebration was the flag hoisting ceremony. Rest of the content was pre-recorded .Students recorded the entire function under the guidance of the teachers in the safety of their homes. The teachers gave a song and a dance number, and they sang and performed it in the confines of their homes and sent us back the videos.

Mr. Jojo Jose our sports teacher was the chief guest of the program. He was given this honour as he had completed 26 years of dedicated service in our school. He hoisted the flag at sharp 8.00 a.m.              Mrs. Sujitha Nair welcomed and introduced the chief guest. Mrs. Shweta Chauhan and Siyona Gale led the staff into a prayerful mood. They prayed for the well being of the nation, our soldiers and corona virus victims.

When the national anthem was played a feeling of pride and patriotism evoked in our mind.    Miss Avalin Jojo recited the pledge reiterating our responsibility towards our motherland. Neha Jagtap from class 12 gave a very in-depth speech on this year’s theme for Independence Day ‘ Nation first, Always first’.

The tiny tots from primary section showcased their love towards the country by dressing up in colourful attire representing the different states of India.  Mihika Hongekar from class 5th sang a melodious patriotic song .Rachit Bhegade kindled a sense of deep patriotism with his Marathi speech.  Sheetal Gandhi and Nidhi Gandhi mesmerized the audience by their performance with the dance number Yaahan vahan sara jahan dekh liye hai.

The chief guest gave a very captivating message regarding the value of freedom.Shivank Wadke and Himanshu  Chaudhari prepared a video congratulating the Olympic winners, who brought laurels for our country and front line workers who took care of us during the corona pandemic.

Mrs Deepawali Kotulkar proposed the vote of thanks. The anchors Pushipka Lakra and Reeshika Dogra very spontaneously and confidently presented the whole program.
